When will I get my Flume Fusion... when its done... :)
over 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 07, 2019 at 12:30:35 AM

Adding this bit as my response to a backer came out better than I'd planned... or not..  Anyway... seemed like a good thing to post again for everyone who doesn't read comments:

I'm looking at starting production again after the holidays... so early January..

I'll be machining these while I'm finishing off the DM Screen campaign... so I can be more productive... then I'll take all the machined parts and finish them while I start machining on the Flume 2 and Quarter and Half core projects, same reason, staggering the work so while the CNC's are running I'm sanding and finishing parts.

Then everything has to have the magnets installed... sounds easy enough but it can be tricky.

So. all that being said I'll be shipping as parts are finished through this process. When will you get yours? When I'm done making it. When will that be? Sometime between now and the end of next year likely... If business picks up at ZucatiCorp then I can afford again to hire some help and this whole production process gets faster... if not, then I'll continue living at the level I'm at and things will take longer.

Please remember that this is not a hobby for me, I'm not working a full time job and doing this on the side... this is my full time job and most of the time it's just me doing it. Had I not gotten sick over such a long period of time I would likely be done by now... but not something I could control.

Best news is that I'm on the mend, and working more and more, and faster every day.

Thanks very much for your patience and understanding.

New program developed to upgrade your Flume Fusions
over 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 07, 2019 at 12:30:34 AM

Updated my  Flume Fusion design to Rev. 4.5

These updates and revisions include the following upgrades:

  • Cleaner machining paths... less clean-up work to do post-machining
  • More reliable grain cutting paths... less chip-out and waste
  • Faster overall program machine time.
  • Deeper rolling surface pocket and slightly shallower dice pockets to make the dice stay in the base better and allow easier removal from their individual pockets
  • Higher dice tower ledge. Allows for stronger magnet in base for a more secure attachment of tower to base.
  • Tabs. OMG Tabs. Eliminates part break-free and a lot of post machining clean-up and sanding
  • Tool path mesh clean-up... its not something I want to explain, but it makes cleaner parts.

This means all flumes shipped from now on will be using this new program. This is good news.

Here's a render of the model during machining.

I'll start this new program machining as soon as I can.

I've got 26 / 60 DM screens left and I'm working on those primarily now.

Quick update for November
over 4 years ago – Sat, Nov 30, 2019 at 07:14:27 PM

Been a bit longer than I wanted for an update, sorry.

This and the half-core project are on the back burner for the time being till I finish the DM Screen project... just shipped a couple more screens for that and am working on the next.

26 more DM screens set left to go, its going slowly but it's going.

I've got two dice campaigns I'm also working on, the Elemetals, which I'm still rounding up dice for to fulfil pledges... and the latest Perfect Plastic dice... which I've got dice due for delivery in January...

Other than machine and finishing time, shipping funds are one of the limiting factors. I can only afford so much per month for shipping, So I ship what I can, in all campaigns where I've got pledges ready...

This one I've shipped a few things, and will keep doing that till I focus on it...

I have been selling my earlier test pieces and sets that didn't come out the way I wanted to raise money, both to operate and to pay for stuff like shipping, so you'll see a few of all the project items in our online store... none of these are your pledges and all of them are being sold to help get you your pledges. The more I sell the more money I have to finish these projects.

Additionally I'm working in refinements and other small changes to make your and all the other pledges better as I go.

Thanks for your patience. I'm working, I'm recovering, and I'm making progress.

Whatever I'm working on, selling or doing next. I'm doing it to eat, pay rent, fill pledges and meet my commitments. Please feel free to follow my work, and activities on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter... as Kickstarter is usually only updated when I have something project specific to post... and with this and the other three wood projects I'm not focusing on right now...the wait can be longer than I'd like.

Thanks for your patience.

September 2019 update
over 4 years ago – Tue, Sep 24, 2019 at 10:48:07 PM

Thanks everyone for your patience and support.

We've been making money at a couple of local conventions here in Seattle to ensure that we can both eat and keep ZucatiCorp running.

We've got some of your pledges ready to go and will begin producing and finishing others in the next week. That means shipping will begin again for another round about the 1st or 2nd week in October.

Nothing more to report other than I'm feeling much much better, am no longer on oxygen during the day and have lost close to 75lbs since March.

Thanks again.
